The mission of the Letters and Links Golf Tournament is to bring the community together in an effort to spread awareness about the foster care system through an organized fun event for all.

The goal of Letters to Foster Children (501c3 nonprofit) is to provide encouragement and friendship to those currently in foster care through handwritten letters & works of art. We aim to support children in foster care, to put a smile on their faces, and to give love to these incredibly strong humans. Starting in July 2020, we strive to make sure that every child feels important no matter their circumstances.

There are over 400,000 children in the foster care system today. Sadly, many of them have faced some form of abuse or child neglect. As a result, children in foster care often suffer from PTSD and depression at much higher rates than the general population. Writing a letter may seem like a simple task, but your words could truly change someone’s life.

The Wada invitational was founded by Parker Wada in 2022 as a way to engage those in the community through golf. Parker states “when great people and a strong purpose align, it is inevitable that a special event will transpire.” Last year, around 70 people attended the event and launched the idea of making this platform even bigger for the future years to come.

This year, we are focusing our efforts on raising funds to purchase luggage for local San Diego children in foster care. It is heartbreaking to learn that these children are often forced to pack up their belongings in trash bags - yes, trash bags - as they move their lives from one place to another. This is a situation we can rectify with your help. Together, we can put an end to this.
